The Bible is unique. It is influence on the world that we live in is incomparable to any other book, particularly in the western world.
Josh & Sean McDowell have written ”Evidence That Demands a Verdict. Life-Changing Truth for a Sceptical World.” It is full of information on the the Bible, Jesus and truth written for those who would question these things.
For example, it speaks about the uniqueness of the Bible ... - in it’s time span (about 1400 years)
- in it’s geographic diversity (written in both urban & rural settings, western societies and eastern societies, ruling cultures and those being ruled)
- in it’s authorship (with around 40 different authors from kings to farmers and fishermen, people in palaces and prisons).
- in it’s many literary forms and genres (poetry, history, correspondence, prophecy and others)
- written in 3 different languages (ancient Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic)
- unique in it’s message (it stands alone compared to other religions)
- unique in it’s survival and resiliency
- unique in it’s impact on western civilisation
The Bible has been the top selling book of all time ... why not have a read?
