B1. People’s Religion Doesn’t Always Help

Unfortunately, not all Christians can agree on what the Bible says and not all Christians know what the Bible says. Also, not all people who claim to do things in the name of the God of the Bible are doing those things for any other reason than for themselves.
What I am trying to say is that what you think you know about the Bible because you heard it from a person professing to be a Christian May not be a good representation of what the Bible says.
To many people, it is surprising that the Bible says
that the laws of the Old Testament were given to the people of Israel to supervise them until Jesus came and faith supersedes those laws,
that it is the goodness of God that leads people to turn to Him,
that a focus on the law is what stirs up sin,
but the grace of God teaches people to say no to ungodliness.
Many people have been told by well-meaning Christians that God is waiting to judge them for their sins. God sent a Saviour for our sins and the devil is called the accuser of Christians. The problem is that some people have been introduced to the accuser of Christians and told that he is Jesus!
The good news of the Bible is the gospel of grace - it is favour and empowering that we do not deserve. God loves us and in Jesus He forgives us of our wrong-doings.
ARE YOU SURE ... that you want to judge the Bible based on people’s behaviour?
Jesus changed everything. The entire Old Testament pointed people to Jesus, the promised Saviour who was prophesied, foreshadowed and awaited.
