Why would anyone want to read a Bible when it is seen as just a dusty, old, irrelevant and outdated book of man-made myths and fairy tales made up to describe mysteries that science has now understood? Science has now disproven the Bible. If that is your view, this site is for you! However the next question to be asked is:

ARE YOU SURE?

This site will challenge the notion that modern science has disproved the Bible and the existence of God ... in fact you may be very surprised when you discover the truth about science and the Bible. Perhaps a better question would be:

Why wouldn’t you read the Bible?

It has been the best selling book of all-time by far, it’s teachings have shaped the laws of the western world and it’s events are what has determined our calendar separating years before and after Christ.* Jesus is seen by many as the most influential person in the history of humanity, the Bible is the most historically verified book of ancient history and multitudes of people claim that it has transformed their lives!

ARE YOU SURE ... that you want to dismiss the Bible without even reading it?

Before you do read the Bible, it is worth knowing a little about how the Bible should be read. It is not a scientific book, it was written over almost 1400 years by around 40 different authors, inspired by God,** of differing genres - some history, some poetry, some personal correspondence, parable, allegory, biographical as well as some prophecy and apocalyptic. In order to understand it, it helps to know what the genre is (i.e. it can’t all be read literally and was never intended to be), who it was written to, the context and culture of the time and how it fits into the overall story of the Bible.***. Having said that, it truth, the authority and the wisdom are often immediately evident when reading it, for example Jesus’ sermon on the mount (Matthew chapters 5 to 7) and the book of proverbs (which is a collection of wisdom statements).
